After the successful "New 7 Wonders of the World" campaign, the Swiss-based New7Wonders Foundation is currently searching for the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Among the finalists one can find a Korean contestant, the mesmerisingly beautiful Jeju Island, or as the Koreans like to identify it: the land of rocks, women (cf. haenyeo) and the wind. Of course, Jeju Island offers much more than that. Just take a look at CNN Go's must-see list or read Steve Miller's informative articles over at The Korea Blog.
As a fan of Korean cinema, I would say that the definitive Jeju-movie is Love Wind, Love Song (연풍 연가, 1998), a subtle romantic drama starring Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young who -- as you may know -- got married in 2010. It's a heartwarming love letter to Jeju Island that highlights its tourist attractions such as Mount Halla (Hallasan), Hallim Park and the Dokkaebi Road -- watch it if you can!
